About Willis Trucking
Est. 2004
Willis Trucking was founded in 2004 by Luke and Sarah Willis. They started with just one truck and would take regional loads together. In 2008, they bought their second truck, which Luke dispatched while still driving himself. After 19 years of hard work and dedication, they have grown to become a 14-truck, 23-trailer operation.
Today, they haul loads from local meat and egg producers to the American Southwest and generally bring back seasonal produce products. Luke still takes care of all the behind-the-scenes work for the company, including dispatching the fleet and being the go-to guy for anything Willis Trucking. Sarah still works in the business alongside her husband. They have four children; Chase (16), Mallory (14), Jude (11), and Levi (11).
In 2021, they moved to their new shop located at 49901 St Hwy 14 (see below), Chariton Iowa. It's a convenient location, about a mile north of Chariton on State Highway 14, and allows for easy delivery to many different distribution facilities, including Hy-Vee's warehouses in Chariton. It is a modern, 7200 square foot facility. It includes both a large workbay with a full-time mechanic and a washbay to keep the trucks squeaky clean. It also provides drivers plenty of space to park their personal vehicles.
